The Single Window Citizens Engagement Service (SWCES), under the auspices of the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, convened a three-day training workshop for Case Management Officers (CMOs) of SWCES on human rights and legal issues in the Eastern Region.
The objectives of the training were to:
– Equip the officers with knowledge of the justice system in Ghana.
– Enhance their understanding of various human rights.
– Improve the legal competence of case management officers by providing a deeper understanding of legal procedures in the Ghanaian system.
– Instill legal ethics to enable the officers to conduct themselves ethically and professionally in their services.
The Director of the Human Resource Management Directorate, Madam Vida Owusua Mensah, speaking through the Deputy Director HRM, Mr. Ekuban, stated that the CMOs bear the responsibility of recording cases and following up to ensure grievances and complaints are resolved successfully. Training them on the legal framework will equip them with the requisite skills and knowledge.
Mr. Ekuban further disclosed that the training will ensure that the officers are familiar with the current legal framework, enabling them to carry out their roles effectively.
He encouraged the officers to participate fully and learn from the expertise provided to achieve an insightful training session.
During the training, the Head of SWCES, Madam Naa-Dedei Antie, advised the participants to focus on human rights and legal issues to enhance their ability to handle cases with a strong understanding of legal frameworks and human rights principles, promoting fairness and transparency in their field of work.
SWCES is aimed at streamlining citizens’ engagement and ensuring efficient service delivery.
