The Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Adutwum has asked about what new policy former president John Mahama is coming to offer Ghanaians after his tenure of abysmal poor performance the last time he was in office.

The minister asked this question when he spoke to this paper on the recent outbursts, castigations and tirades the former president has been preaching in recent times at the least opportunity.

He warned Ghanaians to be wide awake and close their precious ears over the noise John Mahama is making these days trying every method to denigrate the current president at the least whim.

“What is happening in Ghana is not the making of the president but a global catastrophe bedeviling every economy.  We all know the blow Covid 19 dished to the whole world and our country, so we are now trying to pick the pieces. How can we blame the president and his team for global debacle?”

The minister intimated that all over the world things are tough and difficult and Ghana is in the same condition including Almighty USA and Briton.

“I don’t think the president will intentionally subject Ghanaians to these difficult times because he thinks a lot about the country’s wellbeing and is doing his best but the unluckily world order has tied his hands behind him. Today the British pound is tumbling over and the Americans have introduced price controls for the first time and it tells you the big challenge facing the whole world,” he said.

He asked the former president to come out with his solutions to solve our current crisis instead of just playing the blame card.

“Any opposition leader elsewhere worth his salt would have come out with workable alternative plans to help the government solve the current problem instead of smearing it for political advantage. If you do that then the citizens would see you as a good person who has the welfare of the people at heart. Mr Mahama should know that Ghanaians have not forgotten about the horrendous DUMSOR era and the economic mess he left this country in,” the Minister said.

He appealed to NPP supporters and loyalists to avoid apathy as that is the only panacea the NDC can employ to win 2024 elections. He also called on the party communicators to tout and voice out the monumental achievements in the face of the crunch global economic upheavals by the president.

“Nana Addo has done tremendously well irrespective of the numerous challenges in all sectors especially in the sector I am supervising. My brother things are happening in all sectors under the current administration and l urge Ghanaians not to do any horse trading and regret later for John Mahama and his NDC is not the antidote to our temporal woes inflicted by global phenomenon,” he said.

The minister indicated that his recent visit to the UN meeting saw world leaders applauding Ghana’s bold strides in tackling our problems under Nana Addo. He intimated that good times are beckoning in post Covid 19 and asked Ghanaians to have patience whiles the problems are being solved.
