Matt racked up 19 goals and nine assists in 46 games this past year, including an assist on the final day of the season which helped Forest Green secure the League Two title on goal difference.

He finished third in the division’s scoring charts but made it to the top of the PFA League Two Fans’ Player of the Year poll, with 29% of the voting public selecting the 32-year-old as their winner.

It was a clean sweep for Forest Green as they filled up the podium. Kane Wilson came in second with 23%, with Matt’s strike partner Mathew Stevens making it into third with 13%.

In fourth spot was Harry McKirdy. The Swindon forward enjoyed a memorable campaign in which he famously found the back of the net in the FA Cup third round against Premier League champions Manchester City.

The 25-year-old picked up 13% of the vote too, seeing off Northampton Town’s Mitchell Pinnock in fifth (11%).

Rounding out the final standings was the division’s top scorer, Dom Telford of Newport County, who also picked up 11%.
