It seems like there’s a new contender for goal of the season every week in Major League Soccer.

New England Revolution players stunned this weekend, racking up three places on the list after a phenomenal 3-1 victory against Orlando. In the west, Real Salt Lake’s Pablo Ruiz impressed to propel his side to a 2-1 win over D.C. United.

With that being said, here are the best goals from the weekend…

Carles Gil put the finishing touches on the Revs’ win over Orlando City with this sublime and composed finish. He scored his seventh goal of the season as the Revs remain near the top of the Eastern Conference table.

He’s on his way to become an MVP once again.

What a hit, Emmanuel Boateng! Right on the edge of Orlando’s eighteen, Boateng made great connection on the volley to open the scoring vs. Orlando.

Boateng scored his second goal of the season in emphatic fashion.

The current Golden Boot leader cannot stop scoring. Mukhtar slipped in behind the St. Louis City defense and made no mistake aiming for the far bottom corner.

Mukhtar strengthened his case for the Landon Donovan MVP award as he scored his 13th goal of the season to keep Nashville in the Supporters’ Shield race,

New England supporters will be ecstatic seeing their team on the list for a third time, while Orlando city fans will want to forget about the game entirely.

Gustavo Bou scored his first goal since March 25 and looks set to help the Revs as they have high hopes for the second half of the season.

Is this a case of deja vu?

No, it’s just the second straight week that a halfway line goal has been scored in MLS. We thought that Lucas Zelarayan’s incredible strike had wrapped up the goal of the season vs. Chicago Fire, but Pablo Ruiz had something to say as he stunned the crowd in D.C.
