Supt. Kingsley Wiredu installed as ‘Sompahene’

Sunyani Divisional Crime Officer, Supt. Kingsley Wiredu has been enstooled as ‘Sompahene’ for Sunyani Traditional Area.
The ceremony, which was under the auspices of the Sunyani Manhene, Nana Bosoma Asor- Nkrawii II, saw chiefs, some high ranking members from the police administration both national and regional level, some family members and friends, was to honour the Police Officer for his enormous contribution in the area.
The colorful ceremony which took place on Monday, March 7, 2022, in Sunyani brought together dignitaries including Employment and Labour Relations Minister who double as MP for Sunyani West, Hon Ingnatius Baffour Awuah, Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Ansu Kumi, Police College Commandant, DCOP Baba Sadick, Bono Regional Police Finance Officer, Supt. Joseph Boateng and other high ranking regional officers.
Sunyani Manhene, Nana Bosoma Asor-Nkrawii II, described the ‘Sompahene’ as a well-deserved person for such honour. He commended him for his contributions towards the development of Sunyani for the past eleven years he has worked on the land as police officer.
Supt. Kingsley Wiredu hails from Nsuta Mampong in the Sekyere Central  district of the Ashanti region.
Speaking to Daily Searchlight’s Collins Fosu-Appiah, the ‘Sompahene’ with stool name ‘Nana Wiredu Agyarko’ expressed delight for the honour, and pledged to do more in the development of the area and also use his influence to contribute positively to the development of the country.
Nana Wiredu Agyarko who has been working as police officer in Sunyani for the past eleven years promised to use his expertise to help resolve land and family disputes within the Municipality and help fight crime as well.
He appealed to the chiefs,  opinion leaders and the entire people of Sunyani to support him bring more development to the area.
