The Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Council, Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III has cautioned department of physical planning officials at the Wenchi Municipal Assembly to stop illegal rezoning with immediate effect.
Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III warning came after some angry residents intended to dragged the Wenchi Municipal Director of the Physical Planning Department to court for illegally allocated portion of ae100 feet road as building plots to individuals.
It recalled that leader of the group William Brown popularly known as Wulli Brown a real estate and land agent told our reporter that they intended to take legal action against the Town and Country Planning Officer was to ensure justice and fairness in land administration within the Municipality as well as Ghana at large.
The angry residents further accused the physical planning officials for conducting the illegal rezoning without a stakeholder engagement, this according to them since the demised of the late Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area, Osagyefo Ampem Mori Bediatuo I there was no stakeholders engagement in regards to rezoning of Wenchi.
In an interview with the Omanhene Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III he confirmed that there was no stakeholders engagement in regards to the rezoning of Wenchi and therefore cautioned department of physical planning officials to stop the act of illegal rezoning with immediate effect.
The Traditional Council have instituted stool land secretariat to deal with land issues so I will entreat all to deal with anything concerning land through the secretariat the Omanhene said.
