Stakeholders at a recent engagement in Kumasi have praised the ICT innovations by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) highlighting the growing appreciation for technological advancements in healthcare. The NHIA’s initiatives are aimed at improving service delivery, enhancing data management, and increasing efficiency within the health insurance system.
Dr. Da-Costa Aboagye the Chief Executive, together with the Board Chairman, Dr. Ernest Kwarko, some Directors, and Senior Staff took time to make presentations and thoroughly explained policies aimed at strengthening the Scheme.
The positive feedback from stakeholders indicates a supportive environment for continued innovation and implementation of new technologies and interventions in the healthcare sector. The meeting was part of the NHIA’s ongoing efforts to gather support and advocacy for the proposed changes, which are designed to enhance service delivery, expand coverage, and ensure financial sustainability.
Discussions at the meeting focused on the expansion of health insurance coverage to more vulnerable and underserved populations, the introduction of free annual health checks as part of the NHIS offering, financial reforms, stakeholder collaboration, and the digitalization of services.
