Ruthless Yaw Annor pips Etouga to golden boot accolade

          Accra, June 19, GNA – Ashantigold SC marksman Yaw Annor scored a brace in the final match of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League(GPL) season against Gold Stars to emerge as the top scorer. 

           Annor, with the brace, took his tally to 22 goals for the season, toppling Asante Kotoko’s Franck Etouga Mbella (21 goals) to win the golden boot award. 

          Annor thus equals Ishmael Addo’s goal-scoring record of 22, which the former Hearts striker set in the 2001/22 GPL season.  

           Despite their 2-2 draw against Bibiani Gold Stars, Ashantigold finished seventh on the league log with 47 points.
