REGULAR INCREMENT IN PRICES IS KILLING THE BOOK-BINDING BUSINESS

The Book Binders Association of Ghana has pleaded with the government to cut off some taxes and import duties on some of their raw materials to reduce the regular increment of goods and Services in Ghana.
Mr Frank Adu-Gyamfi- Executive member of the Book Binders Association of Ghana was speaking to the media at a press briefing in Accra. He indicating that their business is collapsing due to Regular Increament of Papers they use for Book  Printing.
He stated that the unstable dollar rates has brought their work to a crossroads.
He said that a bundle of paper which used to sell at 380 Ghana cedis has now increased to 700 hundred Ghana Cedis, an over 100 percent equivalent price increment. This has made it difficult for them to sustain their business.
He called on Government to cut off some of the taxes on Import Duties and also to find better solutions to stabilize the dollar rate annually in order to Help Local Manufactures to produce at a constant price to boost their business in order to reduce the unemployment rate in the country.
