PULL OUT GAMES IN HONOUR OF DDP RAPHAEL TUEKPE

As part of the Pull Out activities for the Volta Regional Commander, DDP. Raphael K. Tuekpe, the Sports Unit has organised a friendly pull out games between Kpando Local, Ho Central and Ho Female prisons.
DDP. Tuekpe will retire from active service by the end of July, 2024 and his Pull Out ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday 2nd August, 2024.
The Regional Commander opened the match with a kick together with Chief Supt. of Prisons Wilson Gagakuma. The first half of tactics display of soccer between Ho Central Prison and Kpando Local Prison ended goaless from both sides.
In the early minutes of the second half Kpando Local Prison was able to find the net of Ho central prisons with a header from their skipper. Many efforts by the Ho Central team to equalize the goal was not successful leaving the host Ho Central team losing to Kpando team on 1 – 0 after 90 minutes of football display.
Meanwhile, on the side of Volley ball, both the women and men’s team of Kpando Local Prison seems not to understand the tactics. The men and women’s team of Ho Central Prisons won their counterparts hands down in the Volley ball play.
Two trophies were donated by Viva Ventures who was the main sponsor of the games. They were presented to Kpando Local and Ho Central Prisons for the outstanding performance in football and volley ball respectively.
The Regional Commander in his opening address mentioned that, the aim of the friendly games between the stations was to socialise, distress and foster unity among officers.
He commended the teams for the beautiful display of skills, talents, unity and discipline and above all exhibiting professionalism. He also expressed appreciation to the organisers and urged them to organise more of such games which he would love to watch even after retirement.
The occasion was graced by the Second in Command of the Ho Central Prison, ADP. Francis Akakpo Dotsey, the Officer In Charge of Ho Female Prison, ADP. Mandy Mensah , the Officer In Charge of the Kpando local Prison, ADP. Wilson Sallah, C/Supt. Wilson Gagakuma, the Regional PRO. Supt. David Nyabiire Apusigah and other senior officers from the competition stations.
