Promasidor Ghana Limited, who sell the ‘Onga’, a Bouillon cube, says that a publication in the Daily Searchlight of 3rd February 2022, is ‘false’, ‘misleading’ and ‘disparaging’.
Writing through Accra Lawyer Nancy D. Ampofo (Miss), Promasidor Ghana Limited is demanding an unqualified apology. The letter was dated February 7th, 2022, but was delivered February 9th by expedited mail.

RE: FALSE AND DISPARAGING PUBLICATION ABOUT PROMASIDOR GHANA LIMITED S ONGA PRODUCT
We write for and on behalf of our client, Promisador Ghana Limited with reference to your newspaper publication dated 3rd February 2022 with an article entitled “HYPERTENSION EPIDEMIC IN GHANA : MAGGIE, ONGA , JUMBO AND GINO CUBES KILLING GHANAIANS” written by one Linda Naa Deide Aryeetey.
We are informed by our client that you, by way of the aforementioned publication, are intentionally and knowingly making false and misleading statements about our clients ONGA product. The statements contained in the said publication are not only false but have greatly hurt our client’s business and disparaged its ONGA product.
We have our clients instructions to demand that you retract the said publication within seven (7) days of the date hereof, and render an unqualified apology for the embarrassment you have caused our client as a result of the said publication.
Please take notice that if you do not retract the said publication and render an apology to our client by close of day seven (7th) day of the date hereof, we shall have no other alternative than to institute an action against you on our clients behalf for damages for product disparagement and an injunction to prevent you from further publishing the defamatory material.
