Reports reaching this paper presuppose that Professor Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi barring any hindrance is likely going to sweep the majority votes in the Central Region in the upcoming elections for the position of National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
As one of the contenders for the prestigious Chairmanship position in the party, he is seen as a force to reckon with as far as the region is concerned.
The reporter who has his ears on the ground can certainly bet his bottom sterling on the chances of the learned Professor’s advantage over his other contestants in the region.
Available information clearly puts the professor ahead of his competitors. The reasons being that the Honourable Professor is: respectable, knowledgeable, disciplined, mature, approachable, blameless, clean, faultless, kind, sincere, etc.
Besides, he is a real party man and also a foundation member of the party. He has impeccable public and political service records; has travelled far and near and has very rich experience in all facets of life.
He does not belong to any camp and gets on with everybody in the party. There hasn’t been any adverse findings against him so far.
He can enter any corridor of power with ease and can get audience and negotiate with any person or authority.
This translates into a big asset for the party if he gets the nod. These and other qualities puts him ahead of other competitors in the region.
So the majority of Central region executives and delegates have decided to put their trust and hope in the respectable professor to steer the affairs of the party for victory, unity, loyalty, commitment and stability in 2024 to break the 8-year enigma for the two political parties in Ghana and beyond.
This reporter can say without fear that it would take very great effort by any contestant to win the region ahead of the learned professor as delegates are poised and determined to give their votes to him unconditionally.
