The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has admonished the general public to refrain from presentation of forged or fake documents for authentication of visa application.
The Ministry in a released statement furiously noted that the presentation of forged or fake documents is punishable under section 158, 159, 166, 166, 169 of the criminal and offences Act 1961(Act 29) accordingly.
The statement added that applicants who present forged or fake documents to be authenticated for the processing of visa applications would be handed over to the police and prosecuted accordingly without fear or favour.
The statement advised members of the public knowingly or unknowingly to conform to the legitimate specifications for the processing of visa applications.
