Barely 72 hours after writing an ill-advised letter to the Speaker of Parliament seeking to make changes to the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in parliament, the party with its Chief Scribe at the front, has crumbled in panic.

The NDC leadership has hurriedly eaten back their bile and withdrawn efforts to oust the party’s diabolical stalwart Haruna Iddrisu (Tamale South) and Muntaka Mubarak (Asawase) by hurriedly reinstating them and others to their positions.

Fifi Kwetey, the party’s General Secretary, is laying the blame for the gaffe on the failure to go by ‘procedure’ and failure to engage with all stakeholders.

“The said notice dated 23rd January 2023, announced changes in our Parliamentary leadership and a ‘procedural’ charge to the new leadership to recommend consequential changes in the Ranking membership to the Headquarters of the party for approval.

“The NDC Leadership in parliament prior to the January 23rd notice will remain unaffected, ‘pending subsequent meetings with the Functional Executive Committee (FEC)’ and ‘all relevant stakeholders.

In effect, not only did the new executive, which came into power just weeks ago fail to observe proper procedure, they also failed to consult relevant stakeholders.

The announcement two days ago led to widespread outcry and violence at Asawase, where Mubarak Muntaka, one of the NDC’s generals in charge of rough and unruly tactics for the party, squats over a parliamentary seat.

Below is the latest letter from Fifi Kwetey.

Dear Mr. Speaker,
