The NWSL approved the move, despite an imposed roster freeze on the Orlando Pride due to the investigation into Head Coach Amanda Cromwell and/or Assistant Coach Sam Greene on the potential violation of league policy against discrimination, harassment, and bullying.

“On behalf of the Pride organization, we’d like to thank Amy for her contributions to the Club and wish her the best of luck moving forward,” Orlando Pride General Manager Ian Fleming said.

She originally arrived at the club in June 2021 from Manchester United, joining on a two-year contract with the option for 2023. She became an integral part of the team during her first season, taking over Phoebe McClernon’s place in the starting lineup and featuring in 12 of the team’s final 14 matches.

The 2022 saw a struggle for Turner, as she featured in just four of the team’s six NWSL Challenge Cup matches and struggled with an injury that placed her on the sidelines for the first three months of the regular season.

She made her 2022 NWSL campaign debut on May 22, playing just 45 minutes in the defeat to the Chicago Red Stars. Now, departs after making overall 19 appearances across all competitions. Given the terms of the buyout, the defender is free to join another team.
