Frederick Opare Ansah, a former member of parliament for Suhum, and former Deputy Minister in the erstwhile Kufuor government comes to the contest with a world of experience.

In a well-crafted message to the delegates, it is now obvious that party supporters see in for a clear commitment and innovation to chart a new path for the party.

A section of the delegates in the Savanna Region believe that Opare Ansah should have been the General Secretary of the party long ago if the party had known of his worth.

He has promised to be accessible to the party members at all times, and run a very honest and transparent administration.

The position of General Secretary has become the talk in town. After the withdrawal of Charles Bissiw, five others are contesting in the General Secretary position including the incumbent John Boadu, the YEA boss Justin Frimpong Kodua, and four time member of Parliament Hon Frederick Opare Ansah and two others.

Many have described the contest of the General Secretary position as a clash of the Titans. However the four time Member of Parliament, Hon Frederick Opare Ansah has taken lead as it stands by close of business before the rest. His message has spread wild like the bush fire in the harmattan season causing fear and panic within the camps of other contenders.

It is clear the four time Member of Parliament has displayed an absolute level of maturity in his campaign. His realistic message has definitely found rest in the bosom of the kingmakers (delegates).

The “Adane”* term

For strategic reasons or whatever might have been the cause, Hon Frederick Opare Ansah was unable to kick start his campaign after nomination and other processes. Indeed “wo di kan court aa, na 3nkyer3s3 wo adi bim” to wit ‘if you are first to present your case in court doesn’t gurantee victory’.
