Patricia Boakye, the Women Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the United Kingdom, has declared that she would prefer a compassionate man over a woman lacking empathy for women and children.
This statement is a rebuttal to the opposition’s claim that the NPP does not support women, especially in light of the NDC’s choice of a female running mate for John Mahama in the upcoming Presidential election.
Patricia Boakye, also known as Daakyehemaa, criticized Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, alleging that during her tenure as Education Minister, she canceled vital allowances for teacher trainees and nurses.
Daakyehemaa also recounted an incident where Professor Opoku-Agyemang reprimanded a headmistress for requesting basic supplies only after the Second Lady’s visit.
In a recent interview, Daakyehemaa stated that Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s record makes her an unsuitable candidate for a running mate.
She highlighted Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s achievements, such as the introduction of the free Senior High School policy, and asserted that he is a superior choice compared to Prof. Opoku-Agyemang.
She also has advised Ghanaians to reject the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr John Dramani Mahama in the forthcoming elections.
According to her, the former president has only four years left to make an impact and lacks the vision needed for Ghana’s progress.
In an interview with Movement TV’s Kwaku Dawuro, Daakyehemaa warned that electing Mahama could lead to a return of frequent power outages, commonly known as “dumsor.”
She expressed concerns that Mahama’s proposal to review the Free Senior High School policy might signal its cancellation.
She accused Mahama of being better suited to “loot and share” and distributing cars to social media influencers rather than focusing on meaningful development.
Contrastingly, Daakyehemaa endorsed the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the presidency, highlighting his potential eight-year term and his track record as Vice President.
She urged voters to consider Bawumia’s achievements and vision for Ghana’s future.
