*NPP Flagbearership Race: Eric Sakyi Nketiah Set To Pick Up Nomination Forms Today*

A Senior Lecturer at the Department of History Education of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Eric Sakyi Nketiah will pick his nomination forms for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP)’s flagbearership contest today, Tuesday, June 6, 2023.
Mr Nketiah, who was the former President of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) of the UEW campus and a former member of the UEW Governing Council, and a TESCON patron at the university, adds to a number of stalwarts of the party that have picked up forms to contest in the party’s presidential primary that is scheduled for November 4, 2024.
According to MyGhanaMedia.com sources, he (Mr. Eric Sakyi Nketiah) will pick up the forms personally at the party’s headquarters.
The NPP will elect its flagbearer for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections in November and so far 11 aspirants have declared their intention to contest for the position.
However, since Friday, May 26 when nominations opened, ten (10) persons have so far picked the nomination forms which cost GH¢50,000.
These include:
i. Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia
ii. A former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko
iii A former General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong,
iv. A former MP for Mampong, Francis Addai-Nimoh
v. A former Agriculture Minister, Dr. Owusu Afryie Akoto
vi. A former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng
vii. A former Member of Parliament for the Offinso North constituency, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku
viii. Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong
ix. MP for Essikado-Ketan, Mr. Joe Ghartey
X. Energy Analyst, Kwadwo Poku.
