NLA COMMENDS GLOA, PLoS FOR COMPLYING WITH 20% LOTTO COMMISSION

Management of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) has commended the Executives of the Ghana Lotto Operators Association (GLOA) and the Private Lotto Operators (PLOs) for complying with the directive on the payment of Lotto Commissions.
Management of NLA issued a directive informing the Executives of GLOA and all PLOs, that effective 14th October 2022, they are to fully comply with the payment of the Lotto Commission, not exceeding twenty percent (20%) as determined by the Board of the National Lottery Authority and agreed by the PLOs, pursuant to Section 28 of the National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 722).
The Authority in a release yesterday took cognizance of the publications by GLOA and PLOs instructing their Writers to comply with this directive or forfeit their license.
“NLA highly applauds GLOA and the PLOs for enforcing this directive,” the release stated.
Management of NLA reiterated that, by this directive, NLA shall deploy its task force in conjunction with the security services nationwide, to ensure full compliance with the payment of the 20% Lotto Commission.
“Failure and/or Refusal to comply with this directive shall result in NLA exercising its statutory mandate to revoke the License, not renew same, and/or ban the Lotto Operator from operating for a minimum of five (5) years, without prejudice to any other rights in and at law,” the release, signed by Management, concluded.
