The Chief of Nkonsia, a farming community in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region, Nana Adu Poku Asuma IV and his inhabitants are battling with basic social amenities which is making life unbearable for them.
These include lack of portable water, a health facility, police station, a durbar ground, which are just a few of the problems in the community.
There are also huge heaps of refuse dumps in the community.
These came to alight when the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Wenchi constituency, Kojo Frempong paid a courtesy call on Nana Adu Poku Asuma IV and his elders at the Nkonsia Chief palace.
His visit aimed at seeking the blessings of Nkonsiahene Nana Adu Poku Asuma IV to support his parliamentary ambitions.
Government has started construction a durbar ground for the community but the project has been abandoned, the Nkonsiahene reiterated.
According to him several attempts to get the contractor to site have fallen on deaf ears.
Nana Adu Poku Asuma IV, Nkonsiahene further stated that he has earmarked a piece of land for the construction of a police station.
In response to the request by the Chief Boafo Kojo Frempong explained that he has constructed a borehole at Tangba Kurom and other villages under the Nkonsia community.
