Report by Edward FRIMPONG
Yesterday the NCCE hosted the media to brief them about the Commission’s Inter-Party Dialogue Committees (IPDCs) which have commenced nationwide.
The Committees identify early warning signals,  serve as mediators among political parties on disagreements that have the potential to escalate into violence, work to defuse political tension, engage stakeholders in the resolution of inter and intra-party disagreements that can affect the general election.
Again, per the functions of the IPDCs, they also organise social events involving political parties to enhance tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
The IPDCs are formed by registered Political Parties, Faith-Based Organisations, CSOs, EC, CHRAJ, National Media Commission, Security Services, Traditional and Religious Leaders, etc.
The Commission’s working theme for the year is, “Together We Can Build Ghana, So Get Involved”.
