The donated items include twenty (20) boxes of power zone products from the Cevag Company, forty (40) packs of Mont natural mineral water from Ashfar Company Ltd, twenty (20) packs of Bel Aqua Mineral Water and twenty (20) packs of Bel beverages from Blow Chem Industries, five (5) boxes of Kivo gari mix product from Procus Ghana Ltd, and ten (10) gallons of Bine ‘Akashaa’ product from JA Biney Ltd. The purpose of the presentation was to help support persons suffering from Substance Use Disorders (SUDs)
Receiving the items on behalf of the Commission, the Director-General of the Commission Mr Kenneth Adu-Amanfoh on Friday, December 22 2023, thanked the donors for their commitment towards supporting persons with Substance Use Disorders (SUDs). He added that their effort of collaborating with the Commission mainly to help promote and implement measures towards the education, treatment and rehabilitation of persons suffering from SUDs was very much appreciated.
Mr Adu-Amanfoh indicated that the operationalization of the SUD fund in 2024 will go a long way to help in the Commission’s activities. He further encouraged the donors to consider forming an Association to streamline their activities for the Treatment Centres in the country. On his part, Mr Kingsley Owusu-Achau, Executive Marketer of Ashfar Limited underscored that the gesture was part of their Corporate Social Responsibility obligation.
He added that the donation was vital as it falls within his company’s focus of supporting society, especially on health grounds. “We are happy to support NACOC to advance its mandate, hence our presentation was to cheer up our brothers and sisters in the drug treatment facilities and give them a sense of belonging”.
