The Member of Parliament for Trobu Constituency Hon.Moses Anim and Municipal Chief Executive officer for Ga North Municipal Assembly, Hon. Simons Sekyim has cut the sod for the construction of school fence walls at Osman Bonafan Islamic Basic School and Ayawaso Quarry Basic school in the Ga North Municipality.
The initiative forms part of the measures to deal with threats of encroachment on the school’s land.
Speaking at the sod cutting ceremony, the Member of Parliament for Trobu Constituency Hon. Moses Anim said the construction of the school’s fence wall will ward off squatters who are settling close to the school.
He said a nursery complex has been lobbied to start construction. He expressed the hope that the contractor working on both projects will be quick enough for it to be completed in a short possible time.
The Municipal Chief Executive officer for Ga North Municipal Assembly, Hon. Simons Sekyim on his part added that his aim was to fence all the public schools in the Municipality when he came to the office to avoid any encroachments and to ensure security for the students.
