Ambassador Norma Ang Sanchez, Mexico’s Ambassador to Ghana, paid a courtesy call on the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss how to further promote trade and investment between Mexico and Ghana.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the Centre’s Deputy CEO, Yaw Afriyie, highlighted the existing relationship between both countries and the significant strides made by the former Ambassador, H.E. Enrique Escorza, in bringing investment into the continent. He also expressed optimism that the H.E. Sanchez will continue the good work and consider bringing investment in oil and gas, agriculture, tourism and recreation, which Mexico has a lot of expertise in.
The meeting was crucial in furthering partnerships plans, as it follows an MOU signing between the Centre & Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Comercio Exterior (COMCE—the Mexican private sector organization dedicated to promoting foreign trade, foreign investment, and technological development), during investment promotion mission to Mexico last year. This MoU was aimed at setting out a targeted approach to attract and facilitate investment from Mexico, paving the way for increased investment from Mexico into Ghana.
