The main Wenchi to Wa road has developed manholes and many other roads such as Wenchi to Offuman, Wenchi – Nwoase – Nchiraa to Anyima are in a deplorable state.
Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III, the Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area revealed this in his welcome address on Sunday September 8,2024 at the Wenchi jubilee park when former President John Dramani Mahama took his campaign to Wenchi.
Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III reitrieted that the deplorable nature of the road network within the area affects businesses.
“His Excellency, I would like to plead with you that if you get the nod to become a president kindly come to our aid by working on our roads,” Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III stated.
In his response to the request by the Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area, the Former President and Flagbearear of NDC John Dramani Mahama assured Nana and the people that he would fix the roads if elected as president.
“Looking at the political history of Wenchi NPP always boasting that Wenchi is their ancestral home because of Professor Busia but they have failed to develop Wench,” His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has said.
According to him during his administration he has awarded the Wenchi to Offuman road to Kofi Job but president Akufo-Addo has abandoned the road.
According to the former president President Akufo-Addo says his government has constructed 12000 kilometers of roads.
“If indeed Akufo-Addo says his government has constructed 12000 kilometers of roads where is Wenchi’s share of the roads?” former President John Dramani Mahama questioned.
He further assured that NDC given the nod in 2024 elections will see to the completion of all abandoned projects in the country.
“This I have said that the NDC will focus on finishing all abandoned projects,” he said.
