Lands Commission starts Demolition Exercise at Amrahia Mpahuasem and Borteyeman

Following reconnaissance inspections of sites in Amrahia, Mpahuasem, and Borteyeman, the joint team of Lands Administrators and Police officers agreed on the urgency of more extensive exercises to recover and protect all the encroached portions including demolition of all unauthorized structures.
In a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of Lands Commission Mr. James E . K Danson, he said the Lands Commission has received reports with great consternation of encroachment on State Lands at Amrahia, Mpahuasem, and Borteyeman in Accra by unknown armed men.

This illegality started during the festival season in December 2022 and continues to occur.
He indicated that these parcels of state lands are under threat and part of Government acquisitions with compensation paid. They are
1. State Lands (Kweiman – Amrahia – site for modern Diary Farm) instrument 1970 (E.1.47) with an approximate area of 1,381.995 acres.
2. State Lands – (Accra – Mpahuasem – site for Accra Training College) instrument, 2009 (E . 1. 16) with an approximate area of 111.25 acres.
3. State Lands – (Accra – Nungua – site for site Livestock Farm) instrument, 1940 (certificate of Title 214/40) with an approximate area of 2,570,05 acres.
The Executive Secretary said in all these acquisitions above, on the goodwill of the Government, some of the portions of these sites have been released to the pre-acquisition owners.
He called on the general public to offer their maximum support to the Commission as it undertakes this mandate.
