Angry delegates of the national democratic congress, NDC, in the Ningo Prampram constituency in the Greater Accra region have directed their Member of Parliament Samuel Nartey George, not to attempt throwing money at them with the aim of securing their votes for the next constituency elections.
The delegates, who are incensed by the MPs claim that he paid delegates between Ghc200 and Ghc100 in the last elections which he won by seven votes, said, Mr. George’s comment  has reduced them into butt of jokes in the constituency.
“Imagine being told by work colleagues that my MP has bought my future for Ghc100,” a delegate angrily yelled at a gathering.
Speaking to JoyFm on their personality profile show, the MP. gesturing with his left hand, told the host that, he paid delegates in his constituency before he was voted for, so why should they expect any developments from him.
“I paid to get elected, “How did you think I got elected, I wouldn’t sit here and say I didn’t pay. they paid more than I did but I also paid, it depends on who. monkeys play by sizes”
Mr. George who said he paid between Ghc 200 and Ghc100, has since filed his nomination forms to seek re-election.
But in one of their branch meetings in the constituency, some delegates who said the comment was unfortunate and disrespectful, wondered if the MP thinks the 100 cedis is what has sustained them for the past 4 years.
“Maybe he thinks we are uneducated and hungry, so his 100 and 200 is enough for us to educate our children,”one of them fumed.
Even ET Mensah with all that we said about him for which got you into power in 2016 did not show us this much disrespect, the angry delegate added.
” We don’t blame him, we have worked for him to drive V8, so he thinks we have nothing useful to add to him…”
Meanwhile Michael Kwetey Tetteh, a former party chairman has also filed to contest the seat.
