The midfielder joined Chelsea in July 2020, and her deal had been poised to expire in the summer.

Fleming has won two WSL titles during her two years in west London, playing a particularly pivotal part in the Blue’s 2021/22 WSL title winning campaign.

“I am so excited to be staying at Chelsea for the next few years!” Fleming said. “In Chelsea I have found a home away from home with an incredible group of staff and players. I will continue to give my very best to the club each and every day I am a blue.”

Fleming was restricted to a peripheral role during her debut season at Kingsmeadow, but went on to feature 21 times for the Blues during the 2021/22 campaign, chipping in with six goals and four assists.

Aged just 24, Fleming has already been capped 109 times by Canada, and was instrumental in her country’s surprise surge to Olympic gold at the Tokyo Olympics, netting a number of crucial spot kicks.

She was handed the captain’s armband for Canada at the Arnold Clark Cup in February 2022 in the absence of Christine Sinclair.

“We are delighted for Jessie to extend her contract with the club,” said Chelsea general manager Paul Green.

“She has been developing well over the last couple of years and we look forward to seeing her continue to improve and develop in the upcoming years.”
