IMPOSITION OF CURFEW ON ALAVANYO AND NKONYA TOWNSHIPS IN THE OTI REGION

The Minister for the Interior has by Executive Instrument renewed the Curfew hours imposed on Alavanyo and Nkonya Townships and their environs in the Oti Region from 6:00pm to 6:00am effective Sunday, April 24, 2022.

A press release in Accra said that Government continues to urge Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth and People of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace to the area.

Meanwhile, Government will like to reiterate that, there is a ban on all persons in the two towns and their environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons, and any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.  

This was contained in a press release signed by Ambrose Dery (MP), Minister for the Interior issued in Accra and dated Sunday, April 24, 2022.
