The parliamentary candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Wenchi Constituency, Kojo Frempong has called on Muslims to support him and Dr Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia with prayers to emerge victorious in the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Kojo Frempong made the call at the just ended Eid ul Adha festive at Wenchi in the Bono Region.
Furthermore he appealed to the Muslims to intensify their prayers for peaceful and fair elections.
Kojo Frempong reitrieted that the religious tolerance in the country had endeared the nation to many, particularly on the issue of peace .
He pleadged that the NPP as a party would collaborate with all stakeholders during, before and after the election to sustain the peace of the nation.
For his part the Member of Parliament for Wenchi and a parliamentary candidate for the biggest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC),Hon Alhaji Haruna Seidu also called for peaceful, free and fair elections as well as for his bid to retain the seat.
He also admonished Zongo youth to desist from engaging in violent activities at the behest of politicians.
Hon Alhaji Haruna Seidu observed that politicians have recruited some Zongo youth to cause violence at the just ended EC limited voter registration exercise at some registration centers.
The MP advice Zongo youth to tell politicians who would come to them to orchestrates violence to tell their children and families to take the frontline.
