Qualification for the finals – due to be played in June next year – is up for grabs, while a number of major nations face relegation from the top tier.

Here’s what you need to know ahead of the final round of group stage fixtures.

Croatia are now the hot favourites to reach the Nations League finals from Group 1, sitting a point ahead of Denmark and five clear of France.

Austria have lost three of their five games in the top and may not be able to avoid a defeat which will consign them to relegation into League B.

Austria vs Croatia score prediction: 0-2

Denmark slipped up in their last outing, losing 2-1 to Croatia to surrender top spot in the group. They now need Austria to upset Croatia and put in a massive performance themselves against world champions France.

Les Bleus haven’t found any form in the Nations League, however, and have to win to retain their spot in League A.

Areola; Saliba, Varane, Badiashile; Clauss, Fofana, Tchouameni, Mendy; Griezmann; Mbappe, Giroud.

Denmark vs France score prediction: 1-1

The Netherlands have enjoyed an excellent campaign so far and are on the brink of reaching the finals after beating Poland 2-0.

The Oranje have 13 points with Belgium their closest competitors on 10. The low-stakes nature of the contest and the quality on show will hopefully yield an entertaining match.

The Netherlands vs Belgium score prediction: 2-1

With their defeat to Belgium, Wales remain bottom of Group 4 with just one point. They can, however, stay in League A if they beat Poland as they have a better goal difference than their visitors.

Roared on by their exuberant Cardiff crowd, a momentous result for the hosts shouldn’t be ruled out, but Poland have quality in their form of Robert Lewandowski and Piotr Zielinski.

Hennessey; Cabango, Rodon, Norrington-Davies; Roberts, Morrell, Smith, Williams; James, Moore, Bale.

Wales vs Poland score prediction: 1-1

Germany return to England and Wembley on Monday for the first time since Euro 2020 in a dead rubber.

The Three Lions have been terrible in this edition of the Nations League, have already suffered relegation and are four points behind Germany, who have been poor too despite being safe.

Hansi Flick’s side lost to Hungary last time out and have struggled to find their ruthless streak, drawing four of their seven games in 2022.

Are England in decent form? No. Will we predict them to win anyway? Yes.

Pope; Walker, Stones, Maguire; James, Rice, Bellingham, Saka; Foden, Kane, Sterling.

Ter Stegen; Kehrer, Sule, Ginter; Hofmann, Gundogan, Kimmich, Raum; Muller, Werner, Sane.

England vs Germany score prediction: 2-1

Italy are stretched very thin right now but were still good enough to edge England and set up a winner takes all game with Hungary at the top of Group 3.

Hungary have been the surprise outfit in the Nations League, with wins over England and Germany taking them to first place.

At home, the Magyars should have the strength to get the result they need to qualify for the finals.

Hungary vs Italy score prediction: 1-1

An entertaining encounter is on the cards when Portugal host Spain on Tuesday night.

First place is at stake with Portugal leading Spain by two points thanks to their 4-0 thumping of the Czech Republic and Spain’s surprise defeat to Switzerland.

Portugal vs Spain score prediction: 2-2

Switzerland vs Czech Republic score prediction: 1-2

Third place Republic of Ireland host bottom side Armenia in Group 1 of Nations League B.

The Boys in Green lost to Scotland last time out and are at risk of relegation alongside Armenia, who won on their last trip to Dublin. A repeat could be on the cards.

Republic of Ireland vs Armenia score prediction: 0-1

Scotland have roared their way to first place with three wins from their last three games, with two coming against Ukraine and Ireland this international break.

The two sides occupy the top two spots and Scotland may be more fatigued, but they should be able to secure the result they need to get promoted.

Ukraine vs Scotland score prediction: 1-1

There’s no hope of promotion for Northern Ireland, who instead need to win in Greece to avoid a relegation play-off.

Greece have already been promoted to League B having won four of their five games, and they’ll be favourites to see off the Green and White Army.

Greece vs Northern Ireland score prediction: 2-0
