GJA FORMS A 3-MEMBER COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE

The GJA Elections Committee of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has announced the formation of a 3-member committee to work on the complaints received relating to the GJA membership register published on May 9, 2022.

The Committee is made up of  Kweku Sersah Johnson, Emmanuel Akli and Charles Adjei Tetteh.

Terms of Reference for the committee are contained in the GJA Election Adjudication Committee Report. As follows;

That, based on Articles 4(a), (i), (ii), (iii) and 47(a) (i), those whose membership have been challenged on the basis on non-payment of dues, but are on the unified list should be allowed to show proof of payment or pay during the period allotted by the EC but prior to the voting date. 

That, based on the eligibility criteria in Article 4(a)(i), (ii), (iii) and (b) the Elections Committee should verify the eligibility of challenged persons according to the above criteria and if they satisfy the constitutional requirements in addition to being paid-up be allowed as eligible members.

And any other reference the committee shall deem fit.
