On Friday 24th February 2023, the Ghana National Gas Company Limited commissioned a 12-unit lecture block in Juansa, Asante Akim North to be used as a satellite campus of the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU).
Dr. Benjamin K.D. Asante, CEO of Ghana National Gas Company Ltd., stated that the company’s comprehensive corporate social responsibility policy has enabled them to achieve significant accomplishments in healthcare, water and sanitation, sports, and education across all regions of Ghana. As a native of Juansa, Asante Akim North, he emphasized his commitment to supporting community development in the area.
Dr. Charles Akomeah Bonsu, Dean of the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Enterprises Development at KsTU, represented the Vice Chancellor at the ceremony and expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North and the Juansa Traditional Council for their support in bringing this vision to fruition.
Dr. Charles Akomeah revealed that the Juansa campus will soon offer various programs, including a Diploma in Catering and Hospitality, a Diploma in Automotive Engineering, and a Diploma in Oil and Gas.
Upon receiving the keys to the facility, he thanked Ghana Gas for their generosity and promised to make good use of the facility. Hon. Appiah Kubi, MP for Asante Akim North, Hon. Kwaku Asante Boateng, MP for Asante Akim South and Deputy Railway Minister, Nana Owusu Awuah Ababio, Board Member of Ghana Gas, Ashanti Mampong Botaasehene, Dr. Ing. Prince Owusu-Ansah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology-KsTU, Dr. Kofi Agyarko Ababio, Director of IDCE-KsTU, and staff of Ghana Gas were among the dignitaries in attendance at the event.
