GES INTERACTS WITH THE MANAGEMENTS OF ADISADEL COLLEGE ON THE ASSAULT INCIDENT

The Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, accompanied by the Deputy Director General-Management Services, GES, paid a working visit to Adisadel College to interact with the Management, staff, and students on the assault incident that occurred in the school.
The visit was to ensure that matters arising in the school is solved and that the serenity is not compromised.
During an engagement with the school management, Hon.Ntim Fordjour informed them that the medical report of the victim showed no significant damage or injury. The Ministry and Ghana Education Service have provided counseling sessions to the parents of the victim and culprit.
He said the Ministry and GES have  also handed over the issue to the police for further legal action
He admonished that the incident should occasion a new paradigm shift for good behavior in the school. He charged the staff, students and management to promote good culture in the school. He asked that the reporting system is strengthened to allay fears and intimidation.
He commended the staff  for their hard work and also urged them to safeguard the future of the students.
Hon. Ntim Fordjour entreated the students to obey the rules and regulations in the school and also stop bullying.
He cautioned them against the usage of phones on campus.
Currently, the affected students are receiving psycho- social support from our counselors.
The Hon. Deputy Minister calmed them down and advised them not to repeat that behavior in the future. He encouraged them to study hard and champion a sign of good behavior.
Generally, the atmosphere is calm and everything has come back to normalcy.
