Thoughts and prayers from the management of GES have been sent to the family of the late Stacy Okyere, a first year student of Aburi Girls Senior High School.
As devasted as GES was on the sad incident which occurred on Friday 4, 2024 after a short illness, the Director-General of GES, Dr.Eric Nkansah on Monday 12th February, 2024, led a delegation to the school and thereafter to the residence of the bereaved family to commiserate with them.
During this difficult times, the delegation among other things inspected the school’s fifteen-bed infirmary and interacted with the nurses.
According to GES, a nine-member team of counselors have been deployed to beef up the Guidance and Counselling Department of the School to provide Psychosocial support for the students and staff.
As part of GES continuous commitment to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students, GES in a statement signed by Cassandra Twum Ampofo Head of Public Relations Unit said, “meanwhile, internal investigation is ongoing and management is also working closely with the law enforcement agencies to independently investigate the matter.
