The Spokesperson of the National Food Suppliers Association (NFSA) has made a passionate appeal to the government to pressurize the Ghana Buffer Stock Company to pay them their locked up monies or they will picket at their premises.

Speaking at a Press briefing in Accra the Association bemoaned the undue delays in the payment of their arrears culminating in the devaluation of their monies against current market value.

According to the Association, their members took loans from banks with interest to supply the food items. He stated that most of their members have suffered insolvency, diseases, divorces, and deaths as a result.

According to the spokesperson, the Buffer Stock Company owes them for one and half years arrears running into several million cedis, that’s, from 2021 to date.

They appealed to the President to put pressure on the requisite agencies to release their locked monies to absolve them from the current predicaments and hardships.

They alleged that the Buffer Stock Company is bypassing them and awarding emergency supply contracts to others without passing through them.

They promised to re-supply the Buffer Stock Company provided they are paid their monies. They said letters have been written to all concerned but to no avail.
