Personnel from the Market Circle Fire Post and the regional public relations department conducted a flood safety awareness campaign at the Takoradi makeshift market to educate fabric dealers and other traders on the importance of prioritizing their safety during the rainy season.
The team urged the traders to put in place effective safety measures to prevent flood in their homes and shops.
They also highlighted the role of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in conducting rescue operations during floods and advised the traders to evacuate early and observe electrical safety to reduce hazards.
The sensitization exercise is part of efforts by the Regional Command to mitigate the effects of flood and promote safety among traders in the region.
