Mr. Isaac Agyiri, the Headmaster of Afedzi D/A Primary School, who doubles as the 2020 Twifo Atti-Morkwa overall District Best Farmer, has passionately appealed to the government to establish a loan scheme for the youth who go into agriculture.  Mr. Agyiri, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Show Boys Farms atTwifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central region has stated that this loan scheme would be similar to the student loan scheme already instituted by the government.
Mr. Isaac Agyiri, popularly known as said ‘Show Boy’, said that over 85% of the nation’s farmers are youth, and such a scheme would motivate to increase the agriculture business and food production in the country.
Mr. Isaac Agyiri mentioned that most of the youth want to go to university because the government has created an enabling environment for them, through the Students Loan Trust Fund. This enables the students to secure loans to support their activities to pay later after school.
Mr. Isaac Agyiri, therefore, said that if the government of the Republic of Ghana creates the same environment in the agricultural sector for the youth, it will inspire our youth to get into the agriculture business.
He, therefore, appealed to the government and the Ministry of Agriculture to plan for a loan scheme for all the sectors to motivate the youth to patronize farming as a farming business.
