Ensure Cleanliness of Nana Nketiah Sports Stadium – Wenchimanhene advises Sports Management Committee

Maintaining a clean and pristine sports facility is essential for ensuring the safety, health and enjoyment of athletes, staff and spectators.

In this regard the Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area, Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III has urged the Wenchi Municipal Sports Management Committee to implement best practices for Nana Nketiah Sports Stadium.

He said that implementing best practices for the facility’s maintenance will help extend the lifespan of the stadium, enhance performance and ensure compliance with health and safety standards Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III advised.

Maintaining a clean facility is paramount and includes examples such as picking up trash, wiping down surfaces and sweeping or vacuuming the floor.

The Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area, made the call on Sunday September 1, 2024, during his speech delivered at the occasion of naming and sodcutting ceremony for additional stands at Nana Nketiah Sports Stadium at Wenchi in the Bono Region.

It’s often said a country that does not honor its heroes is not worth dying for.

The aforementioned adage often comes in mind whenever a national hero or heroine is celebrated.

Sports heroes and heroines are celebrated in the country with most having their names named after national stadiums due to the outstanding roles they played in the country’s sports.

In his address on the rationale behind naming the Wenchi Sports Stadium after the late Omanhene of Wenchi, the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Alexander Obour Damamoah explained that honour was in recognition of the late chief’s achievements and contributions towards the country’s sports.

The ceremony was graced by dignitaries namely, Alhaji Grusa, Executives of the Bono Regional Sports Council, the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive Honourable Alexander Obour Damamoah, the Member of Parliament for Wenchi, Honourable Alhaji Seidu Haruna, Deputy CEO of PBC Limited, Mr. Alfred Ofori Annye, the Wenchi Municipal Police Commander, ASP Nana Boakye Yiadom, the Clergy, Imams, Zongo Chiefs, children and family members of the late Nana Abrefah Kwadwo Nketiah VII, included Chiefs and Queen mothers of Wenchi Traditional Area.
