A new opinion poll by Global InfoAnalytics shows that should the NPP primaries go into a runoff,  Former Trade and Industry Minister Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen would win by 57 percent votes to 43 percent to Vice-President Dr. Alhaji  Mahmoud Bawumia, his closest competitor.
In the initial round of the primaries, Hon Kyerematen will still win by 30 percent votes to 29 percent for Dr. Alhaji Bawumia.  Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Adjapong will take the third position with 23 percent votes, the research said. The remainder will go to other contenders and those ‘undecided’.
This is the third successive time an  InfoAnalytics survey has predicted a win for Hon.   Kyerematen in the upcoming NPP Presidential primaries to select their leader for the 2024 General elections.
The researchers put the poll sample at 5,490 with a confidence interval of 99%. The margin of error stood at plus or minus 1.737%.
In all, a random simulation model selected 75 constituencies with a total voter population of 4,877,028.
The governing New Patriotic Party has set November 4, 2023, as the date for its presidential primaries to select a flag bearer that will lead the party into the 2024 general election.
Hon Kyerematen is seen by many to win primaries.
