The Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (GARCC) says it will effective February 1, 2022, deploy more than 20,000 volunteers across all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to help create public awareness about government’s “Operation Clean Your Frontage” campaign.

Mr Henry Quartey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister said the decision was to encourage full participation and compliance by all MMDAs and the public.

This will be done in collaboration with the Youth Employment Agency, National Service Secretariat, and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NaDMO).

The Minister made the disclosure in an interview with the media on the sidelines of a stakeholder engagement with market queens, transport operators and the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), in Accra.

The Daily Searchlight would like to commend Greater Accra Regional Minister Mr. Henry Quartey for the amount of energy that he has brought to his task since being appointed minister last year.

In several bold ventures, Mr. Quartey has demonstrated that he is a man of action who, given greater opportunity, would bring a lot of colour to his portfolio.

Even though a lot remains to be done, it is increasingly clear that he has focus to leave an indelible mark on the region.

We commend him, and we hope that he would continue to imbue his portfolio with the same verve and energy to the end of his tenure as minister in the region.
