 CMTD ENROLS 4TH COHORTS TO “SHE MENTORS SHIPPING PROGRAM”

The Centre for Maritime Training and Development has organised a training program for 10 young women under the She Mentors Shipping program.

The beneficiaries are tertiary students, recent graduates and young professionals who are aspiring to pursue careers in maritime, shipping and logistics.

The event which will last for 6months included a training topic on CV, cover letter writing, Resume and emailing tips which are essentials for their career success.

The mentees will also have the opportunity to intern with a shipping company to give them industry exposure. 

A panel of industry professionals including the immediate past queen of Ghana’s most beautiful, Naa Dedei Bothway shared their career journey experiences and highlighted the significance of networking to their career growth.

Naa Dedei said, “it takes education to be exposed to opportunities and take advantage of the full benefits.”

The Executive Director of CMTD Foundation, Rekia Torgbor said the foundation intends to bridge the industry academia gap which is essential for the young ladies to succeed. 

She said, “we are going to take the mentees over the next 6 months where they would receive training every month on personal development, personal branding and industrial internships.”
