Accra, Jan.30, GNA-Bishop Dr Yaw Owusu Ansah of the Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministries International has reiterated the call on Ghanaians to keep their environment clean because such acts honour God.

He said cleanliness was next to godliness and that the more citizens kept their environment tidy, the more of God’s presence and blessings the nation would enjoy.

Bishop Owusu Ansah gave the advice on Sunday when the Church launched its building project.

He quoted from Deuteronomy23:12-14 saying: “You must have a designated area outside the camp where you can go to relieve yourself. Each of you must have a spade as part of your equipment. Whenever you relieve yourself, dig a hole with the spade and cover the excrement.”

“The camp must be holy, for the Lord your God moves around in your camp to protect you and to defeat your enemies. He must not see any shameful thing among you, or he will turn away from you.”

He said God could not exist and fully operate in unclean environments so it was important that everyone made cleanliness a topmost priority.

“God was particular when He gave His children this important instruction. He wanted a conducive environment where He can operate and bless His people. Environmental management is Biblical,” he stressed.

Bishop Owusu Ansah bemoaned the poor sanitation in the national capital and charged the city authorities and central government to ensure the enforcement of all sanitation laws.

Government last year launched the “Clean your frontage” campaign as part of efforts to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa.
