Child Development Workers hold fun gamesĀ

Ho, July 25, GNA – Child Development Workers (CDWs) of Frontline Church Partners of Compassion International, Ghana from four clusters at the weekend ended their four-day fun games at the Volta Barracks in Ho.Ā 

The clusters were Adaklu, Tongu, both from the Volta region, Ada from the Greater Accra region and Asogyaman from the Eastern region.Ā 

They competed in football, volleyball, athletics, singing, dancing, draughts, oware, ludo, cards, eating, sack race and lemon and spoon.Ā Ā Ā 

Ada cluster came tops with 227 points, followed by Asuogyaman with 169 points, Tongu, 141 points and Adaklu/Agotime, 124 points.Ā Ā 

They took the first position in almost all the events including football (male), volleyball (male), musical chairs, both male and female, sack race (male), ludo, playing cards, oware and athletics.Ā Ā 

Mrs. Emily Adevor, Project Facilitator of Adaklu/Agotime Cluster the event was to help the CDWs release stress, socialize and fraternize with their colleagues from other clusters.Ā Ā 

She noted that it was also an avenue for the younger ones to learn best practices from older clusters to improve their outputs.Ā Ā 

The Project Facilitator intimated that though the games were for fun, they helped to bring out hidden talents and abilities hitherto unknown in the CDWs.Ā Ā 

She said it was also to help them keep fit and active to prevent ill-health sedentary lifestyles.Ā Ā 

Mrs. Adevor said though the games were for fun it turned competitive but praised the participants for the enthusiasm and sportsmanship they exhibited during the games.Ā Ā 

Mr. Alex Adenyo, Project Facilitator for Asogyaman in his closing remarks said though the games were not done on regular basis it was worth the effort.Ā Ā 

He noted that the the organizers of the games and participants had learnt a lot of lessons during the games and added that they hoped to rope in more clusters in the coming years.Ā Ā 

Frontline Church Partners are Churches that are being sponsored by Compassion International Ghana, a Christian Non-Governmental Organization that releases children from poverty in Jesus’ name, to improve the spiritual, physical, socio emotional and cognitive of children in their children ministry.Ā Ā
