CEO OF NHIA  ENSKINNED AS HEALTH CHIEF BY THE OVERLORD OF THE WAALA TRADITIONAL AREA

The Overlord of the Waala Traditional Area, His Majesty Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo has conferred a Health Chief title on Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, the Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) during his 2-day working visit to the Upper West Region.
Dr. Okoe Boye and his team paid a visit to his Majesty Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo, at his palace in Wa where he was enskinned as Lanfia Naa, the Health Chief.
The Wa Naa lauded the NHIA CEO for his hard work in the health sector and emphasized that he is confident of Okoe Boye’s success in his new role as Chief Executive of the NHIA.
Dr. Okoe Boye was grateful to the Wa Naa for the confidence reposed in him and the honour of being enskinned as one of his subchiefs.
He further called on the Overlord to encourage persons within his traditional area to register onto the NHIS. He indicated that the NHIA team is working diligently to make the Scheme more effective, adding that he is determined to put an end to the outstanding 2-month debt (February and March 2023) owed to health providers.
He commended the Upper West Region for being ranked as one of the best-performing regions in the country when it comes to membership growth for the NHIS.
The NHIA Chief Executive’s delegation comprised of the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Administration and HR, Dr. Mrs. Yaa Pokuaa Baiden, the Acting Director of Corporate Affairs Mr. Oswald Essuah-Mensah,  Acting Director of Management Information Systems (MIS) Mr. Daniel Blankson, Ag. Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng and Angela Asiedu, Communications Officer.
