The Chief Executive Officer for Takyi Augustine Trading Enterprise, Mr Takyi Augustine on Wednesday, August 14,2024 donated GH¢ 6000 to the Wenchi Municipal Sports Management Committee.
The donation is aimed at supporting the renovation works currently ongoing at the Wenchi sports arena.
Mr Takyi Augustine said his donation covers the painting cost of the facility.
Nana Sarkidie Antwi, the Komahene of Wenchi Traditional Area who doubles as Chairman of the Wenchi Municipal Sports Management Committee on behalf of the committee members received the money.
He commended Mr Takyi Augustine for the gesture and said his donation has brought a relief to the committee and pledged to use the money for it intended purpose.
Nana Sarkidie Antwi used the opportunity to make a passionate appealed to well meaning Ghanaians especially Wenchi Citizens both home and abroad to emulate Mr Takyi Augustine to come to their aid to fast track remaining works on the sports arena.
Following the qualification of Young Apostles FC for the Ghana Premier League the Wenchi sports arena has selected the venue to play its home matches.
Ahead of the 2024/2025 season of the Ghana Premier League renovation works is ongoing at the park to meet a premier standard arena.
