Bono Regional Minister Commissions City Angels Western Link School at Wenchi

Honourable Justina Owusu Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister on Friday, July 28, 2023, commissioned City Angels Western Link School at Wenchi in the Wenchi Municipality.
At a short ceremony preceding the event, Madam Justina Owusu Banahene who did the opening of the project together with the MCE for Wenchi and traditional authorities commended the proprietor of City Angels Western Link School, Nana Edward Adusei for partnering with the Wenchi Municipal Assembly for the refurbishment of the school.
“Education is an important tool for the transformation of our young ones, it is the acceptable means through which individuals are able to acquire the relevant skills, values, attitudes and knowledge to live useful lives in their societies and contribute towards the social, economic and political development of the entire nation “
The Minister again emphasized that it has taken a lot of hard work and commitment and therefore all the stakeholders who have contributed in diverse ways to the establishment of the City Angels Western Link School must take collective pride in the success story and resolve to work even harder to lift its status higher.
Commenting on the theme for the commissioning ” Education through Creativity and Technology ” she said it was very timely and appropriate.
Education plays a vital role in both developing today’s creative minds and setting us up for a future full of innovation, with technology growing at a rapid pace, it is easier than ever to find the tools, resources and people needed to foster the creative potential all around us she noted
In addition she said educational technology has emerged in recent years to introduce a variety of IT tools into the learning environment, creating a more inclusive, engaging experience for students.
Furthermore, technology advancements and scientific innovation within schools, help showcase the value of creativity in every field, not just artistic ones.
The integration of such tools into classrooms, therefore opens the door for kids to embrace their own creative desires and for teachers to tailor the academic experience to the individual students rather than shying away from them Madam Justina Owusu Banahene admonished.
Honourable Alexander Obour Damoah, the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, reiterated that the City Angels Western Link School formarly Day Care Center have been rented to Nana Edward Adusei for 20 years.
According to him this would ensure the development proper utilisation and maintenance of the facility to serve the intended purpose and achieve the expected results.
The decision followed observations that the facility was being underutilized facing continuous deterioration and dilapidation at the expense of the tax payer he added.
He underscored the need for Public Private Partnership (PPP) to propel socio economic growth and development.
Honourable Alexander Obour Damoah noted that the time has come for the Assembly and Private individuals and organizations to partner and undertake some strategic investment projects in the municipality as many investors have expressed interest.
The private developer, Edward Nana Adusei who has taken over the facility is an accomplished entrepreneur and Proprietor of the Mathematics Technology and Science (MTS) School and Western Link Educational Complex.
He met all the requirements stipulated by the Wenchi Municipal Assembly for the temporal takeover to run the facility for a 20-year period.
