The Member of Parliament for Wenchi Constituency in the Bono Region, Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna has handed over a three-unit pavilion classroom block to the Ghana Education Service in the area.
At a short ceremony last Friday September 27, 2024, Alhaji Seidu Haruna commissioned the newly constructed project for the Bepotirim D/A Basic School for use.
The MP asserted that the completion of the project is in fulfillment of a pledge he made to the constituents during the 2020 general elections to promote quality education.
He further stated that the provision of the educational infrastructure is part of his determination to uplift the face of the educational sector in the Wenchi constituency.
Education is key to every development, hence he decided to make education a priority as an MP for the betterment of every child in the area, he asserted.
Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna advised the headmaster and the staff of the school to pay good attention to the facility and ensure to put it to good use.
On her part the Wenchi Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service, Mrs. Mary Nyarko Adu Twum commended the MP for giving education in the Municipality the needed attention to improve quality education delivery.
She said the Wenchi Municipal directorate of the Ghana Education Service would continue to work closely to the MP to ensure quality education delivery.
The Odikro of Bepotirim, Nana Takyi Abeam expressed his gratitude to Honourable Alhaji Seidu Haruna for the kind gesture.
The Odikro seized the opportunity to make a passionate appealed to the MP and government to provide them with teacher’s quarters, water and a toilet facility.
Tamale South MP, and the former Minority Leader in Parliament who graced the occasion thanked the good people of Wenchi Constituency for electing Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna to represent them in Parliament. He pleaded with them to honour Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna for the second time by renewing his term in Parliament to continue his good works for the constituents.
“Let not NPP deceive you that they are the only political party that loves Muslims. If indeed they truly love Muslims how come do they (NPP) government abandoned projects awarded by previous NDC government at Al – Faruq College of Education which is the only Islamic College of Education in the country situated here in Wenchi?” Hon Alhaji Haruna Idrisu questioned.
