BERNARD OWUSU ELECTED AS CHAIRMAN OF TUC

Bernard Owusu has been elected as the Chairman of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Ghana. This happened at the just ended 12th Quadrennial Delegates Congress of TUC, Ghana, which was held at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fete, in the Central Region, from 18th to 21st August, 2024. The congress saw other executive committee members who were also elected as the Deputy Secretary General and First Vice position.
Bernard Owusu is an astute unionist with long standing experience in the formation of unions. He is the current National Chairman of General Transport Petroleum Chemical Workers Union (GTPCWU) of TUC, a staff of BOST and a board member of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA). Bernard Owusu, who is  a Health and Safety expert and has expertise in logistics and transport, promised the members of the various unions that he will ensure that  workers’ rights are protected as far as labour related matters are concerned.
The newly elected TUC Chairman, who also possesses enormous experience in the Oil and Gas industry as well as in administration, comes to the TUC with youthfulness, eagerness and new energy, and has promised to revive the Trade Union Structures from District to the National Councils, Rejuvenate the TUC Chairperson’s Caucus, Collaborate effectively with union leadership to place Women and Youth in deserving leading positions across national unions and free from intimidation.
