BARBARA OTENG GYASI CREATES JOBS FOR WOMEN OF PRESTEA HUNI VALLEY

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the Prestea Huni Valley constituency, Hon. Lawyer Barbara Oteng Gyasi, who is the Chairperson for the National Minerals Commission (CNMC) has commenced a free vocational skills training for residents within her jurisdiction.

The duration is 6 days and will cover courses including Fugu Making, Tire and Dye, Bead making, liquid soap, hair conditioner, shampoo, parazone, shower gel, among others.

Implementation of the initiative is handled by the Wasa Hemaa Foundation through a collaboration between Prestea Sankofa Gold Ltd and the Aseda Foundation.

The irst batch of trainees running a little over 1,000 turned up for the launch of program on 21st August 2023.

Present at the event were the MCE Hon Isaac Dasmani (PhD) NPP executives in Prestea Huni valley Constituency, CEO for Aseda Foundation Diana Adjei, Sankofa Gold Ltd amongst others.

Addressing the trainees, the MCE for Prestea Huni valley Hon. Isaac Dasmani (PhD) charged them to make good use of whatever lesson they will receive and utilize it effectively when they start a career.

Acquiring a skill in vocation he underlined will help them start their own business, make money for themselves and their families and ultimately make them financially independent.

Speaking with the media that the initiative is a brain-child of the Chairperson for National Minerals Commission and the aim is to Empowering Prestea Huni valley Constituents through efficient skills training.

Hon Dasmani indicated that the training is programmed to cover every resident within the constituency who is ready to learn a skill for a living.

She urged the trainees to take the training seriously and try as much as possible to monetize the skills they acquire after graduation.
